Connecticut Casket Company was established as a family-owned business in 2010, though the idea for the company came years before at the funeral of a family friend. The deceased had requested to be buried in a “plain pine box”, however, the casket proved to be not much more than a wooden box with little dignity. As a result, the Covey family worked to produce a simple, dignified wooden casket that would preserve the integrity of the idea of being buried in a plain pine box. The solution was a casket that was both environmentally friendly and economical to consumers, as well as manufactured locally in Willimantic, Connecticut. The company soon went on to produce various casket models, wooden urns, and keepsakes to suit all tastes and styles, as well as trundles and cremation trays.
The family owned company is headed by Bill Covey, and provides products to funeral homes in New England and the Northeast.
